A quick page I threw together until I am not too busy to make a site of my own. I've been a web developer for 15 years, working on sites of all structures and sizes. From small businesses to international hotel groups and manufacturers. Have worked in many teams and loved working in all of them, despite the odd bad egg ;-). Over that time I've used lots of different technologies (Yes, was very good at flash and actionscript at one point, may they rest in peace). My current favourites are:
The building blocks of every site. OK, by itself it's a little dull but without it you've got nothing (yes, you can generate it but it's still html even when it's done that way).
My favourite, I love working with Javascript (sometimes called ECMAscript as that's where it comes from) and have done ever since my first web project, made a simple team page that allowed you to view my colleagues profiles without leaving a page. Since then have gotten much better. From simple scripts and analytics to complex product package designers and whole react sites. Shout out to jQuery, I don't use it much anymore but at one time it was a mainstay.
The ever growing capabilities of CSS and it's fantastic efficiency and performance mean that it is capable of incredible things even without JS to back it up. A site without css is about as boring as it gets, a absolute must.
My favourite Javascript framework, great for use in teams or making complex apps.
Keep track of everything, version control, feature branches. Big fan. Though svn is also good
Making cross OS apps simple. Can make one app using the ever fast and flexible web techniques and export it into android and iOS apps. Great
Using js to locally package everything up nicely, saving work and time. Webpack, gulp, babel or make your job easier by not reinventing the wheel. Very useful, though generally I prefer to reduce dependancies to a bare minimum encase of deprecated packages. It can also be used as a server, potential is near limitless.
CSS with added brain power. Allowing more code with less work, so more gets done. Changes can be instantly carried over to multiple rules allowing updates that would have mean many tedious changes to be simply changing a single variable, genious
My prefered back end technology, more a front end developer so I wouldn't call myself an expert but a good language and free :-). Shout out to C# and VB .net used and enjoyed both in the past.
